City Litter
This artwork is part of a City-themed collection of abstract paintings and mixed media pieces on canvas. City Litter got its name from the unexpected materials it includes—like dried acrylic paint bits and shards of glass from a broken mosaic table. Funny how sometimes all the random, leftover pieces come together to create something meaningful.
From a few feet away, it starts to look like people bustling around—walking on sidewalks, entering and exiting a building, all caught up in their daily lives. It’s completely improvisational, as I never have a clear plan when I begin.
This one also challenged me to move away from my usual bold, bright colors. I stuck to a soft palette of light blues, flesh tones, and ivory for the background and design. Of course, I couldn’t resist sneaking in the colorful additions of those dried paint bits and mosaic pieces—it’s the perfect pop of energy!
